New Bosch Group Directors in charge of Asia Pacific business

On July 23, the Bosch Group officially released to the outside world. Since July 1, 2008, the new director of the Bosch Group, Mr. Uwe Rasik, has officially taken over the Asia-Pacific affairs of the Bosch Group. Previously, since the beginning of 2004, the region has been under the responsibility of Dr. Kong Lude. Mr. Rasik also serves as his former position – President of Bosch Power Tools, responsible for sales, marketing and engineering.
Uwe Rasik joined Bosch in 1984 and held management positions in sales, marketing and engineering. From 1995 to 1997, he was the Managing Director of Bosch Southeast Asia in Singapore and was responsible for the aftermarket business in the region. Prior to joining the board, he led the Bosch Power Tools Division to achieve double-digit growth for four consecutive years, with sales growth of 11% to €3.1 billion in 2007, while achieving outstanding results in Bosch brand building and expansion of emerging market businesses.
It is understood that in fiscal 2007, Bosch achieved double-digit growth in the Asia Pacific region for the third consecutive year, with sales reaching 7.6 billion euros, accounting for 16% of Bosch's global sales. Based on positive expectations for the economic outlook, Bosch expects the Asia Pacific region to achieve above-average growth in the next few years and hopes to achieve a sales target of 22 billion euros in 2015. By then, Bosch Asia Pacific sales will account for a quarter of Bosch's global sales. To achieve this goal, Bosch will maintain a high capital investment in this region, with an investment of 1.9 billion euros between 2008 and 2010.
Uwe Rasik, head of the Asia Pacific region and new member of the board of directors, said, “We have found that all business units have great potential in Asia, especially in the 'green' technology areas related to resource conservation and environmental protection.”
China is a major contributor to business growth in Bosch Asia. By the end of 2008, Bosch China's workforce will account for 40% of the total number of employees in the Asia Pacific region, second only to Germany. Rasic added, “In order to achieve sustainable development in the Chinese market, we need a more professional team of employees, so the company will pay more attention to the recruitment and training of employees and the retention of professionals.”
