NALCO builds R&D center in Bhubaneswar

In order to promote the research and development of new products, the National Aluminum Corporation of India (NALCO) recently established a new R&D center in Bhubaneshwar.

NALCO has always been renowned in the domestic aluminum industry. The new R&D center has outstanding advantages and can prepare for the company's future technology research projects.

NALCO currently has 29 patents, of which 5 have been commercialized. The company is still increasing its research efforts and has made a series of advances in foreign cooperation: cooperation with Rio Tinto on the reduction of 5% in the energy consumption of smelters; and Chinalco International Engineering Co., Ltd. on red mud refining of iron ore concentrate projects Signed a cooperation agreement; signed a memorandum of cooperation with Baba Atomic Research Center on the recycling project.

The company's future research projects will focus on areas such as waste utilization, energy consumption reduction, and alloy research and development to increase company business coverage.
