Four major problems and solutions often encountered in plastic mold forming
Plastic molds are tools used in the plastics processing industry to match plastic molding machines, giving plastic products a complete configuration and precise dimensions. Due to the variety of plastics and processing methods, the structure of plastic molding machines and plastic products is complicated, so the types and structures of plastic molds are also diverse. So what problems do we encounter when molding plastic molds? The following is a brief introduction of Jiuzhi Plastics Network for everyone:
First, burnt
Charring is premature vulcanization of plastics, and poor mold flow causes deformation or incomplete parts before the plastic flow of the plastic mold is completed. In order to prevent or eliminate charring, the plastic mold is completely filled before the plastic begins to vulcanize, ensuring uniform heating of the mold cavity.
Second, fall back
This is the deformation of the molded product at the parting line of the mold, usually in the form of tears or rugged dents, which are usually caused by a sudden release of internal pressure within the part when the plastic mold is opened. Therefore, in order to prevent it from being rough or excessively open at the mold parting line, the molding temperature of the vulcanizing agent used is kept as low as possible.
Third, the entrained air
The air trapped in the plastic mold or plastic may create a soft discolored area in the surface or cross section of the molded part due to incomplete vulcanization. The solution includes the following four points: 1. Collision mold. 2. Increase the amount of vulcanizing agent. 3. Use a high temperature vulcanizing agent that is less reactive with air. 4. Exhaust at the sharp corners and undercuts of the mold.
Fourth, surface discoloration
This is usually due to excessive build-up of the release agent in the plastic mold cavity or due to excessive dust or dirt in the preform. In order to prevent such problems, it is necessary to clean the mold frequently and keep the preform clean, and use the release agent with caution.
