Drafting of new valve standards is expected to fill the gap in the domestic industry

Recently, two standards (Draft) seminars, "Copper Valves for Gas Pipelines" and "Technical Requirements for Copper Alloy Forgings for Valves" organized by the National Valve Standardization Technical Committee, were held in Taizhou City. At the meeting, the experts of the National Valve Standardization Technical Committee, the representatives of the drafting units, and the responsible persons of the Taizhou Bureau of Quality Supervision discussed the specific issues of the valve standards.

It is understood that, in addition to local standards, the country currently does not have national standards or industry standards in the field of special valves, all companies have adopted their own corporate standards, resulting in market product varieties, types are more confusing, the product has varying degrees of security risks. Therefore, the current country urgently needs to formulate a unified national or industry standard for such products.

Previously, Zhejiang Province had approved the release of local standards in this area in 2009. This standard is the "Gas Pipe Copper Valve" industry standard drafted by the Taizhou Special Equipment Supervision and Inspection Center. Taizhou Quality Supervision Bureau Standards Division Chuan Chuanwen told reporters that this standard passed the National Valve Standardization Technical Committee. The discussion is expected to become a national standard in the country in November.

Jiang Chuanwen said that this not only means that the “Taizhou Standard” is expected to fill the gap in the domestic standard for copper valves for gas pipelines, but also gives Taizhou’s special inspection departments and manufacturing companies a strong voice in the industry, and also increases participation in the establishment of corporate reputations. . In addition, the introduction of national standards will have a positive impact on the transformation, upgrading and development of the entire valve industry.

It is reported that Taizhou is one of the major production and export bases of valves in China, and Yuhuan County is also known as the "Capital of China's Valves." As of 2010, Yuhuan already has more than 800 manufacturing enterprises, with an annual output value of 24 billion yuan. At the seminar, there were 7 participants from Yuhuan.
