140 million tons of coal in Zhejiang Province are all transferred

In the 1990s, there were 97 pairs of mines in Zhejiang Province, with an annual production capacity of about 3 million tons. By 2005, the province had 10 pairs of mines with complete licenses and an annual production capacity of 630,000 tons. After the restructuring of the coal industry during the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period, Zhejiang Province has implemented a plan to shut down and switch, leaving only one pair of mines of the Changguang Group.

The above media information shows that although no fatal accidents occurred for 15 consecutive years, the above mines belong to high gas mines. With complicated geological conditions, objective production conditions and production processes are not conducive to safe production. The share of coal production in the Changguang Group’s business is getting smaller and smaller. Considering the overall situation of stability and development, and with the approval of the relevant authorities, the seven mines will be closed ahead of schedule.

According to report, the provinces that currently do not produce coal are Tianjin, Shanghai, Hainan, Tibet, Guangdong, and Zhejiang. Among them, Shanghai, Tibet, and Guangdong have withdrawn from coal production in 1985, 1994, and 2006 respectively. Recently, Zhejiang Province also Join the list of coal-producing provinces.

Zhang Zhibin, an analyst at China Coal Grand Consulting Center, told the reporter that the coal output of the provinces or municipalities that have exited coal production is very small. In addition, some provinces are also considered for economic development.

Li Qinna, director of the Building Materials, Metallurgy and Coal Industry Management Office of Zhejiang Economic and Information Commission, said that at present, the province’s annual coal consumption of more than 140 million tons will be entirely transferred from outside the province and from abroad.
