At present, organic-inorganic perovskite material systems differ from traditional pure inorganic solar materials in the presence of organic cations. Therefore, how to control organic cations to realize the preparation of large-area highly uniform perovskite thin films is a very challenging task. Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Process, Chinese Academy of Sciences Qingdao Energy Storage Institute has been working since 2013 to optimize the performance of perovskite materials and devices through the regulation of organic units. In the aspect of organic units regulating the photoelectric properties of perovskite materials, the exchange mechanism of different organic cations or molecules in perovskite thin film materials was studied, and the mechanism of ion exchange in promoting perovskite phase transformation process was revealed (Chem. Mater. , 2015, 27, 7149; Chem. Commun. 2016, 52: 3828), and in turn achieved continuous changes and effective regulation of organic cations in mixed cation perovskite materials (J. Mater. Chem. A, 2016, 4, 14437; J. Am. Chem. Soc., 2016, 138, 5535), developed physical methods for the precise control of organic ion and molecular exchange processes, which provide important technical support for the preparation of high-efficiency perovskite solar cells in the future.

In the aspect of regulating organic cell repair perovskite film defect structure, a post-methylamine gas repair technique was first proposed. With the help of weak hydrogen bonding between organic and inorganic units, the perovskite film defect structure was achieved through the control of atmosphere. Self-repairing, this process is currently the most effective new technology for the preparation of large-area perovskite films. It provides a new way to improve the quality of the film and is highlighted by Science magazine.

The project's research has been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the International Cooperation Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Key Project of the Shandong Provincial Nature Fund, and the Qingdao City Energy Storage Fund.
