Polyurethane and its composite materials have much room for development

The draft of the "12th Five-Year Plan" of the petrochemical industry shows that by 2015, China's new chemical materials and auxiliary auxiliaries, processing machinery, and mold manufacturing will form a system with an output value of 260 billion yuan. By that time, the satisfaction rate of new chemical materials will reach 65%.

During the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan”, engineering plastics, degradable products, organic silicon, organic fluorine, polymer materials and special carbon fibers and polyurethanes will be developed. In the key areas mentioned in the “Decision of the State Council on Accelerating the Cultivation and Development of Strategic Emerging Industries” recently released, the new materials industry has also been used as a special one, and the part involving new chemical materials has emphasized the need to upgrade carbon fiber and Fang. The development level of high-performance fibers and composite materials such as nylon and ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fibers.

After years of development, the polyurethane industry in China has grown from basic raw materials to products and machinery. In the past ten years, although the average annual growth rate of polyurethanes in China is twice that of GDP, the consumption of polyurethanes per capita in China has still not reached the world average. Based on per capita GDP growth and polyurethane growth rate, China's polyurethane industry is still in a period of rapid growth. In the future, the development of China's polyurethane industry will be mainly driven by five major aspects, namely, the total population, the automobile industry, building energy conservation, the improvement of environmental protection requirements, and the leisure and entertainment industry.

The “12th Five-Year Plan” of the petrochemical industry clearly stated that for polyurethanes, the domestic industry scale of raw materials MDI, TDI, and PTMEG will have more room for development, and the market demand for polyurethane building insulation boards will increase. It is expected that polyurethane and upstream raw material products will still have more room for development during the 12th Five-Year Plan period.
