Low-carbon pilot experience evaluation and exchange meeting (group 1) successfully held



In accordance with the requirements of the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan for Controlling Greenhouse Gas Emissions," in order to summarize the progress and effectiveness of low-carbon pilot projects around the country, from March 31, 2016 to April 1, 2016, the Climate Division of the National Development and Reform Commission Experts and pilot cities successfully held a low-carbon pilot experience evaluation and exchange meeting (Group 1) in Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province. The meeting was chaired by Jiang Zhaoli, Deputy Director of the Climate Division of the National Development and Reform Commission. Responsible comrades from 11 pilot cities in Baoding, Shijiazhuang, Qinhuangdao, Jiyuan, Urumqi, Jinchang, Yan'an, Jincheng, Hulun Buir, Jilin, and Daxinganling focused on the progress of pilot projects in low-carbon cities, including task implementation, basic work and capacity building, and systems. Reports were made on mechanism innovation, low-carbon development experience, investment projects, and job proposals.

From National Climate Strategy Center, Energy Research Institute of National Development and Reform Commission, Tsinghua University, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Planning and Research Institute of Ministry of Transport, China Quality Certification Center, Investigation and Design Institute of State Forestry Administration, Statistical Institute of Statistics, National Bureau of Statistics More than 40 representatives from the Monitoring Laboratory, the Ministry of Environmental Protection Political Research Center Climate Department, the Ministry of Housing and Environmental Health Research Center, Beijing University of Architecture, the Rocky Mountain Institute China Office, the World Resources Institute, the Energy Foundation, and the American Environmental Protection Association attended Meetings and participate in exchanges and interactions. Relevant experts conducted in-depth inquiries and comments on the work situation of each city from the aspects of data sources, mission completion, institutional innovation and technological innovation, and exploration and promotion of demonstration experiences.
